Welcome to our farm stay self catering cottage in the Klein Karoo, where you can experience the peaceful beauty of our the Klein Karoo countryside. Our farm offers a unique opportunity to unwind, relax and recharge while enjoying the natural surroundings 

The Blouhuis Cottage offers a unique blend of traditional and modern elements. The main bedroom has acomfortable queen bed, there is a bathroom which includes a shower and bath, a fully-equipped kitchenette, and a comfortable living area with single bed and two seater settee, and a 4 seater dinette. A braai is available as well. We will supply fresh towels in the bathroom and linen for the beds.
 
We take pride in our farm, and invite our guests to explore and enjoy it as well. You can go for a walk on our graded roads or hike in the veld, and enjoy the Karoo succulents or birdwatching and then listen for the fish eagles or owls. At night, after a beautiful Karoo sunset you can stargaze and enjoy our beautiful clear Karoo nights, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of our farm. 

You can also learn about our farming with Red Angus cattle and Dorper Sheep,and how we are committed to sustainability and responsible farming and grow the feed for the animals. Our farm is 100% off the grid and we totally rely on sun/solar energy. Therefore no load shedding here.
 
The Klein Karoo is known for its breathtaking scenery, charming towns and rich cultural heritage. You can explore nearby attractions like the Cango Caves, Ostrich Farms, wines and ports in Carlitzdorp, the charm of Barrydale, and further afield to De Rust and the Swartberg Pass. You can also take a scenic drive through Sewerweekspoort and enjoy the surrounding valleys and mountains of the Klein Karoo, or hike Sleeping Beauty near Riversdale or simply relax and enjoy the

At Blouhuis Farm, we believe that a true farm stay experience means connecting with nature and the land. Blouhuis Farm is one of the historical farms on the R323. Our farm is a working farm, and we encourage our guests to explore and  experience the daily workings of our farm, or simply enjoy a leisurely walk around the farm and along the river when our dogs may join you for your walk.

Blouhuis Farm self catering cottage 

the original farm house and is 160 years old. The cottage has been restored and remodeled with all modern amenities.

Which includes a fully equipped kitchen area, portable braai and garden furniture. Tea coffee and milk is supplied for your arrival.

The kitchenette has a fridge, two plate stove, microwave, kettle and toaster, all utensils, crockery and cutlery are supplied.

We have a queen size bed in the bedroom and a single bed in the living area, fresh clean linen is supplied.

The bathroom has a bath and separate shower, and fresh towels are supplied with shampoo and soap.
